Whole Wheat Pancakes

These are about the most delicious whole wheat pancakes I have ever eaten. Try them and tell me what you think.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 28 pancakes

 

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 1/3 cups dry milk powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cups Splenda sugar substitute

4 eggs, lightly beaten

3 cups water

1/4 cups smart balance, melted

3 tablespoon white vinegar

 

In a large bowl, sift all-purpose flour, milk powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in whole wheat flour.

In a small bowl, combine sugar, eggs, water, smart balance and vinegar. Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the egg mixture. Mix well until smooth.

Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Cook until pancakes are golden brown on both sides, serve hot.

Cucumber Salad with Sesame Tabasco Dressing

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Servings: 3 to 4

 

2 cucumbers peeled and sliced

1/2 bell pepper sliced julienestyle

1/2 onion chopped coarse

3 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon lime juice

2 cloves garlic crushed

15 drops tabasco sauce

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

 

In a large bowl combine everything and mix well. Serve in separate smaller bowls.

Barbecue Chicken with Coffee Sauce

You won't believe the great taste of this one. The coffee does the trick. Taste it and you will be hooked. (good with fish also)

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes

Ready in: 1 hour

Servings: 4

 

1 whole chicken cut in pieces for barbecuing

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup very strong coffee, espresso preferred

1/2 cup ketchup

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

3 fresh hot chilipeppers or jalapenos chopped

1/4 cup dark brown sugar substitute by sugar twin

2 tablespoons hot dry mustard mixed with 1 tablespoon water

1 onion chopped fine

2 tablespoons cumin

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon dark molasses

 

Just combine all the ingredients, except the chicken, in a saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes, cool, then puree in a blender, strain.

When the chicken has cooked on the barbecue for about 30 to 35 minutes turn the flame down to low and start basting for the remaining 10 to 15 minutes.

I usually keep the remaining sauce in a bowl and place it on the table just in case someone wants more on their chicken.

Bottom Line: Most of the current diets, diet plans, free diet plans like the adkins diet, Dr. Oz diet, diabetic diet, sugar busters diet, south beach diet, are all good diets. The concenses verifies that most of them are short term fixes and not good for long term goals. Don't look at how much weight you lose in 10 days or 1 month. A healthy lifestyle is a better choice. After all, you want to keep the weight off, not gain it again.

The decision should be "Which one is best for you"? Hopefully, you will pick the No White Diet. Try it, then let us know if it's right for you.
